Recently, the Suicide Prevention Coalition, Improve Norwich Now (I.N.N.) and The Artist’s Palette have come together to sponsor a Recovery and Wellness Glow 5K Run/Walk. Improve Norwich Now is motivated by a desire to strengthen our community. I.N.N. co-founders, Pastor Jen Westervelt and Brandon Clarke, have sparked this initiative to focus on removing barriers and providing supports to strengthen the community and assist individuals with reaching their full potential. Jill Craft from The Artist’s Palette is excited to partner with us to raise awareness and reduce stigma for such important issues in the community.
The Run/Walk will take place on Saturday, September 21, 2019 with registration at 6:30PM and the race starting at 7:30 PM. With September being Recovery Month and home to National Suicide Prevention Week we are focusing our run on raising awareness for Suicide Prevention, Substance Use and Mental Health Treatment and Recovery. While at the same time reducing stigma surrounding addiction, mental illness, and suicide.
So let’s all have some GLOW fun and shed some light on this cause!
